In a country  where poverty impact is 80% of the total population , raising and keeping children healthy , educated , giving them child rights and protection is a daily struggle.

Our friend Bjorn and your fellow helpers of BETHEL HOME AND SCHOOL COMMUNITY, now is almost one year since we thanked you for your last year greatly and lovely support we have  received from you.

 

 Now is high time again as we come into an end of the 2014 to remember back all good things , encouragements, educational materials, advise (you gave to the teachers, non teachers and children of Bethel) and   money from you, your family, friends and different contributors . We say THANK YOU and God bless you All.

     The year 2014's support of money was of great help to Bethel  Home and School  because:-

     - Enabled us to buy land about 3 hactres where we cultivated maize this year and we harvested about 100 bags which is almost 10 tons.

    -The money help us to install Bio - gas  for cooking system which minimizes the consumption of fire wood then saves our environment and money to buy firewood.

  -The money help us to buy 20 beds (double deker) and matress 40 for the boys (children)'s house /domitory 

        The money help us to make a playing ground for children , and  grain /maize storage and tuition fees for Bethel Orphans who are  in secondary schools and  Universities.

 

  Bjorn and your friends as we told you last time, that Bethel home and School is a registered non-profit organization which  initiated to assist children who are living without parents (orphans) especially those who have lost their beloved parents due to  deadly disease HIV/AIDS .,

Abandoned children ; children abandoned by their parents due to parents conflicts , redundancy  , unemployment  or sometime parents suffering long time sickness.

 Children from poor/hardship families; families with physical disabilities, unexpected  pregnancies  , raped mother, sick families , children  who are parents are  in prisons.

 

Bethel see  poverty  as a major factor /vector for the emergence of these 3 need groups. Therefore Bethel believes  that the most powerful weapon to fight poverty is education, to educate children (400 are in Bethel school) and bethel is among the best schools in  Kilimanjaro region and Tanzania. Also we  empower parents by teaching them the  sense of self- reliance( entreprenuarship) as the  only fast track to bring up their respectively families. And by doing so , Bethel Home and School have about 70 families working fully and part time with Bethel, 20 teachers fully employed and 27 non teachers fully employed , the rest are part time job.

 

NEXT YEAR PLAN

   - Due to the increase of the number of children in BETHEL  we  wish if we would have money we will build two more class rooms.

   -To install solar power  to reduce the costs of electricity power which seems to be heavy burden to Bethel community.

   -To establish fish project as means to improve  community diet  and surrounding societies

   -And if possible to buy one mini bus to replace the old one which is almost out of order and  costly to repair
